DLSL opened their Master in Management Technology for the graduate school program in 1996. The school became the first educational institution in Batangas to offer internet access to its students. De La Salle Professional Schools With a strategy of positioning itself to be a world-class graduate school of management inspired by Lasallian values and working with society to make a difference in people's lives, De La Salle Professional Schools (DLSPS) started in 1996 when the College of Computer Studies and the Graduate School of Business of DLSU-Manila were granted semi-autonomous status by the Board of Trustees. DLSPS is the country’s premier institution for professionals particularly in the field of business. On 16 January 1998, DLSPS became fully autonomous under the DLSU System. The institution operates and holds their classes in DLSU-Manila on Taft Avenue, as well as in La Salle Green Hills, at the RCBC Tower in Makati and in De La Salle Canlubang. Today, DLSPS, modern and dynamic, continues to combine the best of the old with the most stimulating of the new, providing a progressive approach to teaching. De La Salle Santiago Zobel School DLSZ is located in Muntinlupa's Ayala Alabang Village and was made possible through a joint donation of part of the campus's 11-hectare lot by the Ayala Corporation and the Madrigal Family, with the rest of the lot acquired through financing provided by the Filipinas Life Assurance Company. DLSZ was established on 29 March 1978 to meet the objective of moving the elementary department of De La Salle University on Taft Avenue to a more conducive and suitable learning environment, with a high school department to assure grade school graduates of placement in secondary education. The school opened in June 1978 with Prep to Grade Six Levels. With the addition of Grade 7 the following year, the Grade School department became fully operational in June 1979. In June 1980, the High School Department opened its freshman classes and became fully operational in June 1983. The DLSZ Curriculum is designed towards the formation of the whole person in a continually changing environment. As such, the curriculum equips the learners with essential skills and values to competently deal with the socio-political, cultural, economic, and religious conditions of a society venturing into a growing global community with its fast-paced technology. De La Salle University - Dasmariñas A sprawling 28-hectare campus in the historic province of Cavite offering tertiary education, DLSU-D aims to be a leading institution nationally and globally in the integral formation of youth by offering relevant, responsive, and community-oriented academic programs, research and extension services, and promoting a keen sense of history, arts and culture. DLSU-D was first established on 18 July 1977 as a private nonsectarian tertiary school named General Emilio Aguinaldo College (GEAC) – Cavite. In 1987, under the new Lasallian management, it became a Catholic institution with a new name, De La Salle University – Emilio Aguinaldo College (DLSU-EAC). The name DLSU-EAC was again changed to De La Salle University – Aguinaldo in 1992. Eventually, the University's name became De La Salle University – Dasmariñas upon the approval of the Securities and Exchange Commission on 20 January 1997. DLSU-D’s campus has been described as one of the most beautiful campuses in the country, with its Spanish-period-inspired motif, highlighted by four landmark structures in the Cultural Heritage Complex. De La Salle University-Manila The first of only two universities in the Philippines granted a Level IV accreditation — the highest possible level — given by PAASCU, DLSU-Manila holds 10 CHED Centers of Excellence and ranks as the best private University in the Philippines from the latest THES-QS World University Rankings. De La Salle College was founded on 16 June 1911 when the Christian Brothers opened their first school in the Philippines in historic Nozaleda, Paco, Manila. An increase in enrollment in 1921 necessitated the expansion of the teaching and athletic facilities. As a result, in September of that year, the college transferred to its present site on Taft Avenue. On 19 February 1975, De La Salle College was granted university status and became known as De La Salle University. Another milestone school year was 1981–1982 when the university adopted the year-round trimestral calendar for all units instead of the traditional semestral academic schedule. As an internationally recognized Catholic University, DLSU-Manila envisions itself as a leading research university in South East Asia. Jaime Hilario Integrated School – La Salle Jaime Hilario Integrated School-La Salle is a basic education institution located in Bagac, Bataan. Made possible by a 3.5-hectare lot donation by Ambassador Carlos J. Valdes, it was opened on 14 June 2006 with three sections of Grade 1 students, catering to the children of fisherfolk and farmers. Integrating agriculture and fishery, which are the main sources of livelihood of the local folk, the school's curricula aims to instill concern and consciousness for their community and the environment. With tuition fee of only Php 500, the school provides students with uniforms, school supplies, a shuttle service and food during recess. The school plans to add one grade level each year until the school offers a complete grade school and high school by 2015. De La Salle John Bosco College A community of empowered individuals who believe in, uphold and value human dignity, social justice, integrity of creation, sense of national identity and Divine Providence, De La Salle John Bosco College (DLSJBC) was established in 1963 as the John Bosco Technical High School for boys by the Don Bosco Fathers. The school was located at the former parish convent at Mangagoy and used part of the church as classrooms. In 1967, its first batch of students graduated. The following year, high school girls of nearby St. Margaret Mary's School were transferred to John Bosco. In 1969, John Bosco High School became a coeducational institution through a merger with St. Margaret Mary's School. In 1977, the administration and supervision of John Bosco was formally turned over to the De La Salle Brothers. In 1997, pre-school, nursery, and kinder levels were opened at John Bosco. It was also in the same year that John Bosco School became John Bosco College with the opening of its College of Education. In 2006, the school was officially accepted as a District school and member of De La Salle Philippines. La Salle Academy The presence of La Salle in northern Mindanao came to be with the invitation of Msgr. Patrick Cronin of the Prelature of Ozamiz City to take over St. Columban’s Academy in Iligan City. This was the same school that used to be Woodrow Wilson Junior College in 1947. The invitation was accepted in 1958. The school was located in downtown Iligan, a stone’s throw away from the Cathedral. A growing student population and the need for a bigger campus necessitated the purchase of a three-hectare lot in Pala-o belonging to the estate of Pedro Nuñez. The transfer to the new site happened in 1960. In that same year, the name of the school was changed to La Salle Academy. In 1999, Br. Jaime Dalumpines FSC spearheaded the purchase of a property on Mt. Agad-Agad with the intention of using the property for recollections as well as developing it into an Ecology sanctuary. With the purchase came the adoption of a nearby purok, Langilanon, with the academy helping the town's farmers to establish the Langilanon Farmers Cooperative. It was also during this year that the Technical and Vocational Education Training Department was established. La Salle College Antipolo La Salle College Antipolo, located in Antipolo City, Rizal, was founded by Br. Rolando Dizon in 1986. Groundbreaking ceremonies signaling the start of construction works were held on 16 March 1985. The school’s initial year suffered some setbacks brought about by the enormous cost of building a school atop a rocky mountain and by the impassable national road leading to the subdivision. In spite of these difficulties, classes in Kindergarten up to Grade Four went on temporarily at La Salle Green Hills in June until December. On 13 January 1986, classes were transferred to the original site composed of two buildings. The third building was completed in the summer of 1987 and in 1990 the High School building. The College Department followed suit, offering Accountancy, Commerce, Psychology and Hospitality Management programs. A community of Brothers was also opened to fully supervise the entire operations of the college. La Salle Green Hills La Salle Green Hills is a Catholic institution for boys committed to the education of responsible citizens and future leaders. During the early fifties, the De La Salle Brothers hesitantly acquired a six-hectare lot on Ortigas Avenue in Mandaluyong to relocate the Novitiate from Baguio and to accommodate increasing requests for admission to grade school. In July 1959, La Salle Green Hills opened its door to two preparatory sections and one section each for grades one and two. On 24 August 1960, La Salle Green Hills, Inc. was registered as non-stock, non-profit corporation with the Securities and Exchange Commission. In August 1964, the high school was established. La Salle Green Hills High School Department was given a clean 7-year accreditation by PAASCU using Survey form B in 1982, 1987 and 1998, thus making it the first and only high school institution to receive such. La Salle University Designated by the Commission on Higher Education as a Center of Excellence for Teacher Education in Region X in 1995, La Salle University (LSU), formerly known as the Immaculate Conception College – La Salle, is located in Ozamiz City, Misamis Occidental. The University traces its roots to the initiative of a Recollect priest, Fr. Constancio Arsenio, who started a parochial school in 1789. In 1929, the Jesuits took over the management of the Parish from the Recollect Fathers and named the parochial school Immaculate Conception School. Ten years later, the school was turned over to the Columban Fathers. The Columban Sisters took care of school right before the war broke out and continued to do so until it was turned over to the De La Salle Brothers on 17 May 1994. The school achieved University status in 2006 and was renamed La Salle University. St. Joseph School – La Salle To carry out the mission of St. John Baptist de La Salle for the poor and the working class, St. Joseph’s School – La Salle started with the establishment of Immaculate Conception Free School in 1954 by the De La Salle Brothers and the Young Ladies' Association of Charity (YLAC), to serve the educational needs of the children of sugar plantation farmers in Barrio Obrero, Bacolod City. The St. Joseph’s High School was established in 1960 to provide secondary education to the first 45 graduates of the Immaculate Conception Free School who were charged minimum fees. Eventually, they took in pupils from the Barrio Obrero Elementary School. The De La Salle Brothers established an adult night high school in 1966. Inflation and sudden fluctuations in sugar prices in the later part of 1960’s brought about the decrease of financial support from benefactors who helped run the Immaculate Conception Free School. Moreover, many boys shifted to the adjacent public elementary school. The need to further expand St. Joseph’s High School forced the De La Salle Brothers to gradually phase out the Immaculate Conception Free School in 1971. That same year, the De La Salle Brothers finally adopted a coeducational system. University of St. La Salle In 1946, an opportunity for the Brothers to set up a second La Salle school in the country came when then Bacolod City Mayor Alfredo Montelibano Sr. offered the De La Salle Brothers a 10-hectare lot where the University stands today. La Salle College – Bacolod opened with 175 male students from Prep to Grade 5, under seven faculty members. The following decade saw the expansion of La Salle from Grade School to College. In 1966, the year the Doña Corazon Locsin Montelibano Chapel was built and La Salle Bacolod opened its doors to the first batch of female college students. On 05 July 1988, La Salle Bacolod was formally elevated to University status and christened University of St. La Salle. Known for academic excellence, social research dynamism, and active community involvement and service, the University rises to the challenge of the times – the need to exercise the leadership role in the social transformation of Negros through a relevant and Christian education of young men and women.
